Milestone Achieved: 300,000 Naloxone Kits (600,000 Doses) Distributed Across California!
We’re celebrating a landmark achievement in our fight against the opioid crisis: the distribution of 300,000 naloxone kits, equating to an astounding 600,000 doses across California! This monumental success is a testament to the unwavering commitment of our CA Bridge clinician champions and navigators.
Our Life-Saving Impact
With an estimated 16% reversal rate from emergency department-distributed naloxone, these 600,000 doses represent approximately 96,000 potential opioid overdose reversals. That’s 96,000 lives potentially saved, families spared from tragedy, and communities strengthened.
The Heroes Behind the Numbers
Behind each life saved stands a clinician champion and a navigator who made it happen. They are the beating heart of our program, persistently advocating for naloxone prioritization across more than 200 participating emergency departments. They are forging meaningful patient connections, distributing life-saving medication, paving the way to treatment, and providing indispensable education and support. Their dedication manifests in lives saved and hope restored throughout California’s diverse communities.
Looking Ahead
As we celebrate this milestone, we recognize that our work is far from over. The overdose crisis demands renewed dedication and intensified efforts. On our path ahead, we must continue to eliminate barriers to access. We will continue to increase awareness, and we will develop new and innovative distribution methods.Â
Our collective efforts embody CA Bridge’s core values and our belief that, together, we have the power to create meaningful change. Let’s harness this momentum to combat the overdose epidemic with increasingly effective strategies, always remembering that behind every statistic is a human life that matters.
