Josh Luftig, PA-C, has over 25 years of experience in Emergency Medicine and is a founder of Bridge and CA Bridge, where he serves as Director of Clinical Innovation. He co-created the CA Bridge Model, which has expanded from a 6-hospital pilot in 2018 to over 270 hospitals across California and 45 additional states by 2023. His clinical innovations include co-developing a novel high-dose rapid buprenorphine induction protocol published in JAMA that has been widely adopted as an ED standard of care, and advancing direct-to-inject protocols for long-acting injectable buprenorphine through national hackathons. Under his leadership, California’s statewide ED naloxone initiative has expanded 200-fold and distributed over 600,000 doses as of Q2 2024, making it the largest ED-based naloxone distribution project in the United States.
